I just read a post about growing this vine on a bush and was wondering if it would work and look OK with a desert willow? Or does the cypress vine need more shade? They both have thin leaves so I was thinking the foliage would blend in a bit and the white flowers would be noticeable. Opinions?

I'm not familiar with the desert willow, but I grow my cypress vine in the full sun, and it does great. It grows against a Cup Plant, a native NJ plant which grows around 5 feet high. ellen

Thanks, ellenr. The desert willow is a smallish native tree here in Texas. Here's a picture of mine last summer. I'm putting a bed in around it this year, but wanted something to 'green up' the bottom half and provide flowers after the tree has bloomed.
