Need a vine suggestion

Last summer I picked up a sturdy (iron I believe) obelisk about 4 feet tall. It would fit nicely in a large pot. Last year I put one together out of bamboo and grew morning glory Heavenly Blue on it. I also grew other varieties of MG on other surfaces, but the problem I found is that the MG vines grow very quickly up the uprights and finally produce lots of blooms but only at the tops of the vines. The trellis ends up looking like a topiary. I would like to grow a vine that produces blooms all along its length throughout the summer, but cannot think of one. The new obelisk was from an estate sale and was covered in a dried up vine, which still had the tufts of the original flowers attached all along it's length, but I could not tell what it was. An annual vine would be best for me. Any suggestions? Thank you.
