Vines on a gate

I would like to put a small gate in front of my compost pile and grow some type of vine on it to obscure the view. Any suggestions on the type of vine? I need something flexible enough that I can swing the gate open to get compost in and out. The gate would be about 3' high and 4' long. Ideally, it would stay green year around so that it still looks decent in the winter.

I really don't think that you will find an evergreen vine hardy in zone 6 that small and that obliging. I'd start looking for alternatives e.g. a decorative or solid gate.

Don't forget that the vine you will put there will also climb onto whatever the gate is attached to making it impossible to open with out breaking it. I grew pole beans on a fence near a gate and they climbed onto the gate and I had to break the vine to open it. You could always attach an artificial vine to the gate.
