vine for shade?

anyone have a good idea for a vine for a arbor that is in full shade all summer? Love to find something that blooms, but, in the shade? Zone 4 on west side of house but under a large ash tree (close to my hosta garden)

RE: vine for shade?

Check into the hardiness of the beautiful, but odorless honeysuckle, Lonicera tellmanniana. It is somewhat tolerant of shade. Another nice vine is Schizophragma 'Moonlight'. I am in zone 7 and do not know if they would tolerate zone 4.

RE: vine for shade?

Thanx I'm shooting for more information on the Schizopragma--zone 5--I'm 4, so close. Wonderful looking vine!!! Sent an email to if their experts feel it might work. Hope your suggestion pans out for me, as this vine looks fantastic and would relly brighten this spot up.
