Planted a 1 gallon last fall and sprouted very nicely. In three days, the vine has been totally eaten of every leaf and bud with the leaf stems bitten off at the ends. All that survive are bare leaf stems. Nearby plants of all types have not been touched. Seems whatever it was knew what it was and descimated it selectively. What can it be.

Not sure in your zone, however, each year I get beetles that are the same size as lady beetle but are solid gold and very shiny. They eat holes in the leaves. I found them once on a google search, and learned to plant enough vines for me and the bugs...
