It will become a massive vine, some 30+ feet tall and as wide. It sheds it's blossoms and sends out suckers like crazy and during dry weather, loses it's bottom leaves. I don't personally think it stinks, but that's just MHO. All those faults still make it a lovely-looking vine.

Mary Lu, I agree...the silverlace is a beautiful vine to have in your garden. I have several because I like it so much. It does get large and you will need a large/tall trellis. It doesn't stink to me either.

Mary_Lu, We have one on our Pergola, I must have a sensitive nose because I thought the smell it gave off was not pleasant.
My DH and I talked about moving it away from the house (it's still there) because of that. If you go to "my page" you can see a picture of it.
It is really pretty. The only thing I don't like is that it loose's it's bottom leaves.

kayjones, pearlgirl, is your SLV up close to your house or farther out in the yard?

Adichristi, I no longer grow this vine because of its invasive nature - it will eat everything in its path and pop up everywhere. I just enjoy it from afar.

kayjones, we no longer have it on our Pergola. I cut it back and nothing was growing on it. We took it out and put Climbing New Dawn in it's place.
