need vine similar to hops but flowering

I am looking for vine that dies back every winter and re-grows again. This is for a small section on the front of the house and I don't want to see dead leaves all winter long. I've grown hops before (in a pot but planted in the ground) and I am looking for vine with a similar behaviour, but flowering. Basically I need - in order of priorities

1. Flowering - preferably yellow/orange flowers

2. Dies back in the winter, so I can cut it back and not see dead vegetation every time I come to the front door

3. does not overwhelm the wall, I only have about 2 feet horisontal space between the steps and the window.

I think if all the leaves fall off, it would look ok even if it did not die back. The other climber I grown was Virginia Creeper and I loved the look of it in summer and fall, but in winter it looked disgusting.

Ideas muchly appreciated!
