need dog friendly vines for fence

Hi, live in northern part of Il, zone 5 but I like to plant zone 4 if I can. We live on a corner lot with a deep fenced in yard and would like to plant a vine to add privacy. The area gets full sun to partial shade throughout the day, northern side of property with tree and shrubs past the fence to the north.

We have two large dogs that will chew, rip up, and lay on anything and everything within their domain so the vine needs to be non-toxic and hardy. Would silver lace vine work???

Thanks,

I did some research, via google, and found nothing that says silver lace vine is toxic to animals, but - I would never plant where dogs could potentially chew the plants.

When research says something, that statistic is most likely reached, by the reporting source, through random testing on pets. Your pets may be the exception, and be harmed by a plant - I would say put up a privacy fence instead.
