Vine for large brick wall

I posted a similar message on the mid-Atlantic forum, but I think this is a more appropriate place. We just moved into a brick rowhome. We're in the end unit, and our brick wall faces west. It gets quite hot in the afternoon, and I'd like to cover it with some vines to keep the wall cool. I think it also has potential to be quite pretty.

The wall is 25 ft high and 30 ft wide. I'd like to cover the entire wall as quickly as possible. I was thinking of clematis (several montanas to get the width I need), but wonder if anyone has other suggestions. With clematis I'll make a wire trellis. I've read some other posts suggesting cross vine and passiflora, but wonder if these are too aggressive. Thanks in advance.
