Silver Lace vine

Does the silver lace vine start from the ground up or on the old growth? Something is spreading in front of the plant across the ground. Do you think that is Silver Lace or just a weed?

Hello,

If you can post a picture I will id it for you. I am going outside in a few minutes and I will take a picture of my leaves so you can see what they look like. They will grow across the ground if they can't climb.

It can also spread from the ground (new sprouts). Here is a picture so that you can identify the leaves.
