Vines for hanging baskets

Posted by gardenunusual 5a (My Page) on

Hi all,

I have a bunch of seeds to start for my hanging baskets. Can these types be used for them?

cardinal vine
black eyed susan vine
morning glories
moonvine
clitoria vine
nasturtiums
sweet peas

I haven't decided yet what else will be going in, this is my first time trying this.

An idea I have is to dangle chains so they can climb down them.

What do you think?

many thanks

Of the ones you listed I think that the nasturtiums, black eyed susan and clitora vines would be best suited for hanging baskets.

Thanks Karyn!

What you want are things that are trailing, not things that are climbing. Things like you've listed, other than the nasturtiums, will climb UP, not DOWN.
