I couldn't tell you without a photo but I'm pretty sure you are in at least zone 7b or more likely 8a. I'm in MD, just outside of DC and I'm in 7a. You are much further south.

Looks like a brugmansia, angels trumpet. A small tree not a vine.

I agree with Chazparas. They like lots of food and moist well draining soil. You can plant it in the ground in your zone. It will die back over the winter but with a good mulching will return the following year. I feed mine once a week during the growing season. The blooms are beautiful and have a nice scent at night.

Ahhh, a brugmansia...Looked it up and that's exactly what it is. Looks really beautiful but the DH is going to flip to find out I brought a tree. We are catching hell with the roots from the oak trees as it is.LOL I did see online however that someone had it ful bloom growing out of a container. Will probably go that route this year then donate it to my mom next year. Thank you guys so much so the info.

This isn't going to get that big in your zone, maybe 8-10 feet and the roots aren't a problem. Any above ground growth will be killed back each year when it freezes. Your DH shouldn't have a problem with it. Outside of the tropical areas it's more like a really big plant then a tree.
