Which annual vine to direct sow

v1rt

Last year, I put 2 hyacinth seeds on an 18" diameter, 1 ft deep pots. I had 6 of them. It got more than 6+ hours of full sun. I planted the seeds around 3rd week of May. Around September, the total mature height was only 8-9 ft. The flowers were beautiful. The vine wasn't thick as compared to other pictures I've seen.

I'm really not sure where I failed. I was thinking that the Schultz potting mix I bought was the culprit. Again, it's a guess.

What other beautiful annual vines with big flowers can grow faster and even longer than Hyacinth vine? 15 ft would be awesome.

Thanks,

Neil
