growth rate purple hyacinth lab lab?

So my hyacinth purple lablab vine has been growing for about 2 months now and it's still only about 8-12 in tall. Shouldn't it have taken off by now? It got it's first tendril but it got damaged in a hail storm. The plant is fine, but has yet to grow another tendril. It doesn't get a full day's sun, maybe that's the problem. zone 8b
