How long can you preserve morning glory seeds-Grandpa Ott variety

I have some seeds of the Granpa Ott variety Morning Glory which I bought 2 years ago. I put them in the ground at the end of April (zone 6) there has been no frost and great hot weather, but still no sign of them. Should I give up?

I had planted some Grandpa Ott's about 8 years ago and they were still coming up where they were planted 7 years later. If they come up this year it will be 8 years they have returned so that should tell you something.
