Climbing Plant ID

Three cameras (none working, sorry :( )

I don't know where this plant came from, I didn't buy it and have not seen it anywhere around here....

Climbing plant, long leaves, opposite each other, the stem of the leaf is red, stems of the plant are kind of tan. 6 petaled, slightly drooping (flowers are heavy) bell (?) shaped flowers, bright orange with short yellow stamens. Petals kind of look like crepe paper. Flowers are about an inch across, and it does have thorns.

Thank you for responding. No, it's not bougainvillea (it does kind of fit the description, though, especially the thorns :) ).
I just went out and looked at it again, and some of the flowers have opened further. They remind me a bit of a wild rose.

I should have followed my rule of not trying to ID plants west of the rockies... If you can post a pic, you'll probably get an answer today (on "name that plant" forum.) Good luck!

Purpleinopp, I appreciate the effort :). Thank you for the suggestion of the "name that plant" forum (didn't even think of that. Hopefully, I can get one of the cameras to work well enough to get some kind of picture.
