Dutch Honeysuckle

I want to know if anyone else has experienced the following situation..... I have had a Dutch Honeysuckle (Lonicera Serotina 'Florida') growing on my fence for about 15 years. It has always been the picture of health. I have pruned it through the years, but rarely given it much attention beyond that. It always bloomed beautifully and the fragrance in the early morning filled the neighborhood. This year, it is all but dead. We did not have an unusual winter in my estimation. Any thoughts on why it may have met this sudden demise? Should I simply replace it or will no other Honeysuckle do well there now that this one died in that location? I really miss that plant - I named my home after it.
