Silver Lace Vine, botanically known as Polygonum aubertii, is an awesome vine that blooms from spring until fall and can be cut back.

Sweet autumn clematis, aka botanically as Clematis terniflora, is another that I grew when I lived in Missouri. Both of these vines are white blooms and bloom on new wood, so both can be cut to the ground in late fall.

I deal with GardenVines, formerly Brushwood Nursery. A vast selection of vines alone. Usually one price and grand to deal with.
From experience, I would steer away from oriental Wisterias, Akebia, Porcelain Vine, Trumpet Vine, and Passionflowers. All beautiful and determined invasives.
Schizophragma 'Moonlight', The Crossvine, Clematis and the Honeysuckles, Lonicera sempervirens(in all varieties), Mandarin, Tragophylla and Periclymenum have all behaved wonderfully for me.

Depending on where you are located (much of the east coast and parts of the mdwest) both the silver lace vine and the sweet autumn clematis are considered invasive plants.

Bogturtle's suggestions are good. Also a great many different types of clematis would work for you as well. With all vines, it is best to prune or cut back in late winter before new growth begins but if you can't stand the look in winter, a late fall pruning is usually fine.
