Wisteria w/ants and damaged leaves

Hi - I planted my first wisteria this spring and it is growing nicely. I bought it on sale last November and just left it in the pot and planted it this spring fully believing that it would never grow - but it has! However, some of the leaves are beautiful and some of them look like "something" is eating them (holes are in the center of the leaves - not nibble-type holes.) Today while examining them, I noticed a lot of ants busily walking all over the leaves. What should I do? Does soap and water sprayed on the leaves work? Is there anything I can put into the soil? Thanks - also- when does wisteria normally flower?
