It is happens there is a wonderful native to Eastern North America that takes about 3 years to get going, but then it covers a fence, trellis or the side of a building. Aristolochia durior / macrophylla is the name. It is a twirling vine with large green leaves and small pipe shaped flowers. It does not spread by runners, does not seed itself all over. This is it on the right.

Dzit, what is the plant on the left?

It is a bunch of Rhipsalis. There are 3 species, one you can't tell is there (Hatiora salicornioides), one that goes down about to the railing (I forget the name), and the long one which drags on the ground and gets pruned when the mower goes by. It makes small whitish fruit that a Baltimore Oriole stripped off while I sat stock still so she wouldn't fly off. The next day a hummingbird came and picked off spiders that see the multiple thin stems and decide to set up housekeeping. Hard to have anything nice with neighbors like Orioles and Hummingbirds! :)

Bumping this up, another native to E. N.Am. is Wisteria macrostachya (Kentucky Wisteria). Several cultivars around. These are more aggressive than the Pipe Vine (Aristolochia) with runners growing 30ft or more across the ground. Needs a bit more attention, but gives nice blue flowers in the spring. It needs to be pruned every year, or else it can take over an area.

Nobody else must have vines?

Hardy Kiwi. Needs pruned about 3X/year, otherwise it will cross the ocean. Gives good fruit, susceptible to late frosts.
