You can try it, but likely they will die. I live in Dalton, Ga. and this last winter was colder than normal. it went down to 4 deg. several nights and I lost 15+ vines. I am in Zone 7 and still lost them.
Next winter I plan to bobble wrap the trunks and pile about a foot of soil around the base which should help.
