It's honeysuckle - basically a tough, garden thug. I doubt much could bother it. I've seen them laden with PM and filled with aphids and they still thrive and flower and climb.

With a newly planted vine, I'd say you were looking more at acclimatization than anything else. Water as needed this summer and just let it be.

I know they're very tough- my only concern is that it's close to my vegetable garden, so if it's something liable to spread, I'd like to not lose all my heirloom veggies.
