 o
virginia creeper as a roof cover

I built a screened porch last year and had a clear polycarbonate roof put on it. Will Virginia creeper do as a shading roof cover for summer? How can I keep the snow from ripping it off when it slides off when the weather warms a bit? Will try to post a picture of said porch.

RE: virginia creeper as a roof cover

Could you use some type of netting for the vine to anchor to? Or maybe a few eye-bolts to tie it to? Creeper vines are pretty stout when mature and the snow may just melt around them as the leaves will be gone by that time. JMT
