Trumpet Creeper Decision

Hi,

I want to get a trumpet creeper to put against the side of my brick chimney because i want to attract some hummingbirds. I am aware of the fact that they are capable of reaching 40' however i just found out about a dwarf variety called 'Indian Summer' that only gets like 10 feet tall. I was just wondering if anybody has this cultivator or another dwarf variety that they can tell me more about?

IMHO, Bignonia capreolata 'tangerine beauty' is a better vine for what you want. It blooms more readily, at an earlier age, doesn't tear up siding/brick, and hummers love it. Check out the link below for more information.

I agree with the previous post. I have Tangerine Beauty climbing my chimney. It bloomed the first year I had it but only produced a few flowers it also grew slowly. This is it's 3rd year and I had loads more blooms and it's growing like crazy.

It doesn't "stick" as easily as a Campsis radicans (good thing) so I have the cable from an old aerial antennae against the chimney that it's climbing.
