 o
bougainvillea trouble

Hi,

I have two container bougainvillea in my court yard about 1 year old. I water them once every week.

The flowers are large and there are a lot of them, however, the leaves aren't doing as well. Before I water them, the leaves look dry, curly and limping but stay green, after I thoroughly water them, many of the smaller leaves would turn yellowish overnight and fall.

Am I doing anything wrong? Do I need to change the frequency and amount of watering ? Thanks a lot

Perhaps the containers are not large enough? Since you have more than one container, why not try watering one of them more often to see results. Many plants lose leaves over time and this can be normal. It doesn't seem that they need fertilizer if they are flowering well.
Have you felt below the soil level to see if the potting mix is dry before watering?
