Trumpet Vine dropping buds

Hi Folks, we are having an unusually hot and wet June here in Orange county New York. I am having a problem with my trumpet vine - a large number of buds are falling off the vine before blooming. I am wondering if this is because of the extreme heat or some other problem.

The heat can cause bud drop, is the soil drying out around the plant?

thank you - love taking photos of my plants - things have gotten better after I started misting the vine every morning.

Misting will be ineffectual as it does not provide any moisture to the roots. You need to give the plant a thorough watering at the base. Several gallons at a time.
