I have a very large & prolific wisteria which was covered in blooms this spring. If I deadhead will it rebloom?
Thanks!

What kind of wisteria do you have? My native wisteria will bloom lightly off and on all summer whether I dead head or not; I don't know if the Asian species rebloom.

My Chinese one does a nice summer bloom if the new growth is kept pruned back. It's nowhere near the spring display but nice to have nonetheless. It's just starting to put out summer buds now. My Japanese one is still too young to flower so I'm not sure if it wll do a second bloom or not. From what I've read, they are less inclined to than the Chinese ones. But on the local garden tour this summer there was a nice Japanese one. The owner said it reblooms somewhat in the summer if he keeps it cut back.

You can cut your Wisteria vine back to the 6th node from the main stem - it will rebloom.

Very interested to have Wisteria. Anyone know where I can get in Houston Texas? Thanks
