 o
growing grapes on the balcony

I've made up my mind to start growing grapes on my balcony. Is it very difficult to be done on such a small space? The grapes growing sites recommend to have 1 meter deep container or just hole in the ground. My balcony railing is 1 meter high so it is not possible to have such a high container. Is it possible to grow many years (let it be even about 50 year old vine)yielding grapes in a 50 cm (may be a bit less)high container on the balcony?
