Is there any way you can post a picture of it? it would be so helpful for an ID.

The plant has started throwing out some long stems - it sure looks like it wants to grow like a vine. One gardening friend has suggested it may be a Campsis. I'll have to do some research along this line. According to one source it may be invasive.

If it's fragrant it may be a jasmine. the jasmine will have smooth edged leaves, the trumpet vine has toothed edged leaves. A photo would really help. Both plants grow beautifully in the athens area and the islands.

I just checked and the leaves edges are toothed.
