Need help on which vine to plant

I have a pergola over a paver patio in the very back of my backyard. This area has trees and gets filter sun during the day, but gets full sun in late afternoon. I need something to climb on the pergola. I would like a fast growing vine that can handle 105 degree weather in summer and a couple of freezes in the winter.

some of the passionflowers are hardy and vigorous or you might be successful with Clematis armandi or montana, or Bignonia capreolata. I find Gelsemiums like 'Pride of Augusta' super easy.

Great advise, both of you.

My only concern would be pertaining to the Passifloras. I am a fanatic, so I must be nosy. Which would be recommendable is up for debate. Just because your local Home Depot sells it, does not necessarily make it a suitable plant. If Passiflora is a possbility for you, please come to the Pasiflora forum, and we will be happy to tell you more than you wanted to know...
