Mine hasn't started blooming either - no idea why - mine is planted in the ground and is large but not a single bloom!

It may just need a bit more time to grow to reach flowering size.

You might try using a bloom inducing fertilizer (a fertilizer with a very high middle number). Something like 10-60-10 or 30-60-30. Try to use a fertilizer with the LOWEST nitrogen content (the first number) as this promotes lots of foliage with fewer flowers.

Hope this helps,
Chris

thx chris- any brand preferences?

Hi Cloreen,

No preference. :-)

Any name brand fertilizer should do. I've been pleased with even the "store" brands from Kmart, Walmart, and Target.

I do try to buy it when it is on sale. Usually when the garden centers in my area start to clearance the garden center products I'll go on a spending spree and buy fertilizer to last me a couple years. LOL!

Good Luck,
Chris

I had the same problem. I doses mine with fertilome blooming and rooting formula. It is 9-59-8. A week later, mine are mine are loaded with buds.
I bought 8. Lost one, 2 have buds, the others are starting but was cheated by Michigan bulb. They have turned out to be snail vine!!! VERY upset! I wanted and waited for 3 years to have a spot for them!

Buds 2 weeks after fertilizing.
