Clematis AND Virginia Creeper

This spring I started Virginia Creeper on a cement block retaining wall. The creeper has attached the wall and is covering beautifully. Would it work to add Clematis to the same wall? I am hoping that the Clematis would be able to attach to the Virgina Creeper.

I had the same idea,but unfortunately the Virginia creeper has put on on such heavy new growth that the Clematis was swallowed up.If I can find it again I am planning to move the poor thing to a more suitable location where it can have half a chance of survival.
