The Clerodendrum bleeding heart is Clerodendrum thomsoniae. It blooms heaviest during the summer months. It is a tropical vine that can take light frosts and will come back from the roots from a mild freeze, but I doubt it would survive outside in your area. They can be grown & flower in pots & brought inside over the winter. There are other bleeding heart vines in the genus Dicentra that are hardy in your zone.

C. thomsoniae is not hardy in your zone. You can cut it back and allow it to go dormant during the winter in a garage or some other cold but above freezing space or you can keep it going inside or in a greenhouse.
