I'm starting some cuttings of wild grape vines for a bird garden. The "parent" had good fruit production and was disease free as far as visible defects go.

First Q is can I keep the cuttings inside over winter and put them outside in the spring, or will a lack of a cold period hurt them? Can they overwinter outside in pots in keeping them inside would be an issue?

Second Q, I have some bamboo to make a trellis out of. How long could the grape vine grow on a bamboo trellis without pulling it down/over?

Third Q, do I have to have a "man vine" in the mix, or will pollen arrive by self-fertilization or random acts of insects/wind?
