Vine for Mailbox

Posted by wavewatcher 8 (My Page) on

Hi, I'm looking for a vine for my mailbox post and would prefer a type of ivy. Clematis is pretty but everyone seems to have that. I have read about English Ivy and have decided against that. Is there another type of ivy that would grow well up the mailbox post and not give the trouble of English Ivy? My mailbox is in full sun but doesn't have anything growing near it at all other than grass.

Thanks in adavance,
Anna

Trachelospermum / Confederate Star Jasmine?

Should be evergreen in your area, blooms last spring through summer, but could also be very common which I understand when you want something unique.

Hmm ... there's Glessamine / Carolina Jasmine, I think it's semi-evergreen. Cheerfully bright yellow blossoms.

Also Akebia is a really unusual looking vine. Maybe that will set your mailbox apart.
