identify vine zig zag with beans

Hi, I hope it's right to call this a vine. It's growing on a juniper bush and doesn't have enough structure to stand up on its own. There are a few tendrils attaching it to the juniper. The stem is flat and 3/4" wide and has a zig-zag pattern. There are two leaves at each joint in the zig-zag. A bunch of beans 3-4" long grew in June. The beans are brown in the photos, but they were green earlier. This is in Colorado.

What is it? Will it flower? Should I try to preserve it?
