Can you post a pic? I have Golden Tortoise beetles that use my MG's as a food source but I'm not sure if they lay eggs on them.

Ladybug eggs are yellow.

So are a type of aphid I sometimes get on my tricolor morning glories. Belle, a picture would be needed to determine if you have beetle eggs, ladybug eggs, aphids, or something else.

Forgot to say yesterday... This happened last year too and I ended up yanking all the plants out. MG's usually bloom just fine even if they get some type of pest.

Thanks for all the posts! I actually took the garden hose to them last night and blew them all off. I am telling you, these little yellow things were everywhere. They blew off quite easily when I sprayed them directly. I dont know how else to describe them other than they were very small but not hard to see for the naked eye. I will check them again and if they are back, I will post a pic. Thanks again!

Is there a variety of butterfly that lays eggs on MG's?

No butterfly that I know of, but a sphinx moth, the Pink Spotted Hawk Moth (Agrius cingulata) uses Ipomoea as a larval host plant. However, they lay their translucent, slightly green eggs, singly on the underside of the leaves.

I am going to post another insect issue separately from this one, because it has severely devastated my MGs this year.

I'll bet money that they're aphids. Yellow is a very typical color of the aphids found on morning glory. Aphids can be easily sprayed off with a garden hose....insect eggs tend to be glued a bit tighter than that.
