Italian jasmine leaves turning brown

Hi, I think I posted my original questions to the exchange section!! oops, well i'll try this again. I purchased an Italian jasmine and potted it up in a terra cotta pot. It did well the first few days, then without notice the leaves started to crisp and brown at the tips, which eventually spread all over the leaves and they fell off. I kept it well watered after the transfer, so it didn't get dry. The new shoots at the tips, in sets of three which is why i think this is the mediterranean variety Jasminum fruticans, seem fine, but just slightly browning at the edges but not nearly as quick as the others. The vine is about a foot long and I made a small trellis to start training it to climb up, otherwise it is just a long vine which hangs over the end of the pot. Hope someone has some suggestion for me, what I can be doing wrong or is it just adjusting to being transplanted to a suitable pot as compared to the small plastic cup it was in. Thanks for any imformation. Ciao, Maggie
