Dipladenia versus Mandavilla zone hardy

I bought a mandavilla and was told it was not hardy in my zone 5 and to bring it in over winter. Is the dipladenia the same? Humming birds come to my mandavilla & I want more plants to draw hummies & butterflies, but my plant room inside is nominale. I need to get rid of a big annual hibiscus too.

Vangy likes to play in the dirt.

I do believe the are from the same family. They are very tropical. You could try to cut it back and let it go a little dormant if you can spare a spot for it. I can get them here pretty cheap so I stopped bringing mine in too.

Here is a link that might be useful: Mandavilla/dipladenia
