What is this on my Morning glory?

I have never seen this before or maybe I over looked it? I grow heavenly blue. It doesn't look like a pod or is it? The pods I have seen look different. They are round and still have points but these are long in shape. Maybe a young pod?

The photo above shows the calyx of a moonvine either Ipomoea alba or Ipomoea turbinata...

Thank you! I did plant moonflower just over 3 months ago but haven't seen them since. I figured my Morning Glory took over. It seems they are a little late to the party!
