Variegated Algerian Ivy Hardy in 8b

I'm doing a yard for a client and they have hedera helix. I would like to add some hedera canariensis variegated to the mix to add some color and more interest. Is Algerian Ivy as hardy as english ivy? Will it survive through the winter in 8b and come back next year and the years to come?
