The only way too much rain would affect the size and color of the blooms is if the roots of the plants were experiencing rot or close to it...otherwise the abundant water should not impair flower structure...

The lower than usual temperatures can definitely affect both the size and the color of the blooms...it's been down into the 40's here at night,while it was still 78degrees in NYC...definitely not the same temperature zone...

The 1st bloom you posted is an 'indefinite' although the 2nd bloom looks to be "Fuji Musume"

The second one looks like a dead ringer for fuji musame.

Hopefully I will get seeds from it as well as the other one that had no ID. If I do will sow it again next spring and see what it decides to bloom

I haven't hit 40's yet, but we've had mid and low 50's and night for over a week, and then all the rain. The vines are growing fine and finally decided it was safe to bloom since the sun was finally out.

Some of the blooms are smaller than usual though, so I would go with the roots aren't drowned and rotting, so it must be the cool temps.
I've seen this happen later in the fall, towards the end of Sept, into Oct. but not at this time of year.
