Honeysuckle Vine cutting

Someone gave me a cutting awhile ago of a Honeysuckle vine (they had no idea what type).I rooted it in soil and it is now about 8" with new leaves sprouting from soil line. Can I plant this cutting at this time of year(end Sept). Would it be better to keep it in its container and place on the ground near my chimney for warmth.I have done this before with other types of perennials, and they survive the harsh winter, then in spring I planted them in the ground. Right now the container is in a greenhouse in the sun, but the greenhouse does not have heat for the winter. Any suggestions would help.
