Star Jasmine Question, Can it be planted near home's foundation?

I'd like to plant Star Jasmine (trachelospermum jasminoides), next to a home. The home has a basement, and I'd like for the Star Jasmine to grow close to the foundation of the home, to eventually be trellissed against the wall of the home.

I'm concerned about the effect the watering of the star jasmine will have on the home's foundation. There is currently a climbing rose bush against the wall of said home, but watering it has had no effect on the home's foundation for whatever reason.

I've heard that the star jasmine requires very little water and is ideal for Xeriscaping. Does this also make it a good candidate for planting alongside the home, close to the foundation?
