Is there really truth about this?

| 2 months ago, I asked a wisteria seller on ebay. He told me that the plant he is selling is actually taken from an existing flowering wisteria. He told me that the this cutting should also bloom the first year. Is that possible?
Thanks! |

| seeds take up to 10 years to bloom. cuttings take half the time or grafts or sports. but with in the first year it is unlikely. this is due to the fact that it is making roots and growing new growth. i have one i air layered of the vine. this was a ten year old vine and it still has not bloomed and its 4 years old. it grew roots and everything while still attached to the mom before i cut it and planted it. so no in my expierence of wisterias doing 3 plants off a parent plant no they do not bloom the first year. most take up to five years to bloom from what i have learned even after its taken from a blooming vine. |

| I guess, I'll have to look for another beautiful vine. Right now, the only vine I know and that I fell in love is wisteria. Can you name vines that are gorgeous and flowers easily? Thanks! |

| You could go ahead and plant the wisteria but also plant an annual vine like Morning Glory with it every year until the wisteria begins flowering. |

I also vote for planting it. After all how much older will you be in five years if you don't plant it! Joann |

Why don't you just buy one next spring that is blooming? THen you won't have to worry. |
