RE: Will ivy harm a mature cedar tree?

We have a few trees in the front of our house that are covered in ivy...They were like that when we moved in 6 years ago and way too much to get it off.

The trees seem fine and they are very old, but sometimes the ivy browns out at the bottom an looks kind of sloppy.

If you like the look and the trees are very mature there shouldn't be any problem.
