| Hi all..I have a very vigorous vine with blue/purple flowers that I was told was some kind of morning glory. The flowers stay open most of the day. It's in full bloom right now. I started it from a cutting and now it's huge in this one season of growing. I need to know how to save it for next year? Should I cut it down and put straw over the roots or just leave it alone? I have had alot of compliments on how lovely it is and want to save it if possible. I wish I knew what the name of it was. Any ideas?
Thank you for the replies,

| Hi Deb - It sounds like you may have Ipomoea indica >please check out the photo link I added to confirm if this is the plant that you have... Ipomoea indica may be root hardy in your zone(?) and a nice application of mulch might be helpful and wouldn't hurt... I would suggest rooting some cuttings to overwinter indoors in a sunny window just in case the roots don't survive... Hope that helps... Ron |
