Hoya, though you will need more growing skill than for Pothos.

With either choice you'd be waiting an awful long time for 10 - 15 feet of vine.

Possibly Ivy would work well.

Up to a year is allowable and growing skill is not a concern

Do you want flowers? Fragrance? There are a lot of choices. Jasmine, passion flower, Thunbergia just to name a few.

I don't know of any perennial vine which would grow that much even in a year from scratch.

bill_ri_z6b - the OP is looking for an indoor vine. I am assuming this is in a house or office or such, in which case your suggestions wouldn't work. If it's a green house or conservatory with conditions tailored to plants and not people they could be candidates.

Floral uk, if that's true then you're probably correct. But the OP said facing a 100% glass wall, south-facing, but then says it would be a low-light situation. Seems somewhat contradictory, so that's why I asked for more information.

Aha - I see what you're saying. I think we need more information about the location. I was reading it as being inside the window but it may well be outside. A photo of the situation would be good.

Well the OP did ask about "best indoor vines" so I would think it's indoors, near a south-facing window. In any case he/she hasn't responded so far.

My main concern was, can something like passion flower last year round? Or will it go dormant and lose its leaves at some point? It's for a restaurant so ideally there'd be no replacement and no dormancy.

I get really bored with pothos. That's why I wanted to reach for something that was unique with big aesthetic appeal. Big-leaved tropical vines would also be great but I'm not experienced enough to know about which ones to consider growing, let alone buy.

If finding plants that nurseries explain as "able to handle northern exposure" but recommend partial sun, I try to put them in indoor locations that are southern or western/eastern. That way they aren't fried from partial southern sun, but also aren't deprived of the partial shade they may need. Does that make sense? Sort of shooting slightly above the nursery recommendation because they generally default to selling more plants than less. The above plant is an example of this I thought.
