My name is Rebecca and I'm the very tickled owner of a very beautiful (viola?) named 'Rebecca' that I just discovered this past summer.

I'd like to know the difference between pansies and viola's.

Do viola's take to shade better than pansies?

Hi
Rebecca is a very pretty Violet. It likes the same kind of conditions Pansies thrive in and prefers mostly sun, especially in areas that are not too hot in summer. Some Viola species do well in shade. Viola odorata and cultivars do especially well with quite a bit of shade.

I just purchased this "Rebecca" Viola cornuta .... and from what I have read, it needs to be in a partial shady area. Is your "Rebecca" different from mine?
