My first violets on order, culture advice please

I just ordered from Canyon Creek: Crepuscule, Sulphurea Irish Elegance (both apricot), Mme.Armandine Pages (rose, frangrant and an heirloom 1900) and Swanley White (double).
I am planning to grow them together in a tub. Any advice for me as a newbie? I live in a hot valley in Southern California. Thank you.

Ask at Canyon Creek Nursery. John Whittlesey, who owns and runs it, should have good knowledge of how best for you to grow them; email johnccn@sunset.net; phone 530-533-2166. Although he is well north of you, it still gets hot and dry there (Oroville), so he should have some first-hand experience.
